How do I configure my email software?

General email settings (updated 3-Nov-2025)

Mail settings pages vary between devices and applications, but here are the basic settings that should help you get set up if you're familiar with your mail application.

Mailbox type: Use IMAP rather than POP

Incoming Server: imap.extendcp.co.uk
Incoming Port: 143
Require login using secure password authentication (IPA)?No.
Incoming security type: SSL/TLS

Outgoing Server: mta.extendcp.co.uk
Outgoing Port: 587
Outgoing security type: STARTLS
Require login using secure password authentication (IPA)?No.

Username: Your full email address eg. John@mydomain.com
Password: If you can't find the password for your mailbox in your eXtend control panel, ask the person that set the mailbox up for you. We do NOT keep records of mailbox passowrds.

These new (July 2024) server settings may help with problems reaching some gmail accounts.
